Our Visitors

Welcome to Webster Hills United Methodist Church! We are a congregation that cares for our community, and that opens the doors of our facilities and our hearts when there is a need. We are located at one of the great crossroads of St. Louis, Berry and Lockwood—the crossroads of Webster Groves, Glendale, Kirkwood and Rock Hill. We are easily accessed from all across the city!

Webster Hills is constantly being transformed and re-energized by the love of Christ. Our great variety of adult, children and youth Sunday school classes, and long term and short term studies empower us as we put our faith to work and service. Our variety of worship experiences deepens our spiritual awareness of God’s work in us and in the world.

As we continue seeking to improve our walk with the Lord, we welcome you to come and join us in our journey as we share in the love and joy of being a part of the body of Christ and as we continue on the road to greater discipleship.

At Webster Hills we are transformed by the love of Christ and seek to be a reflection of that love here and to the far reaches of God’s creation. We invite you to join us in this spiritual journey.

We are glad that you are interested in Webster Hills UMC. Below are answers to a few questions you may have about our church. We are looking forward to meeting you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Our traditional worship service is held in the Sanctuary at the main church building on the east side of Berry Road, at the intersection of Lockwood and Berry.  Our contemporary worship service, The Connection, is held in the multi-purpose room of the Christian Life Center on the west side of Berry Road at the same intersection.

Are children welcome  in worship and is there child care available?

We believe children are gifts from God. Squirming children and crying babies are signs of God’s creative love and having them in worship is a reminder of God’s love and grace. We welcome children of all ages in each of our worship services. Each service has a special Time for the Children that is suited particularly for them, and all aspects of our worship are intended for people of all ages. Outside each worship space there will be greeters who will have children’s bulletins and “Joseph Bags” with constructive activities to help engage your children during worship.

For those parents desiring childcare, we have two excellent nurseries staffed with quality childcare workers at our worship services and during Sunday School. Beepers are available for parents to take with them in case they are needed during the morning.

Sunday school is also offered for all children ages two and up at 9:45 A.M. The nursery is available for children under two. For more information about the classes and their locations, Contact Us, or speak with the greeter outside the church door on Sunday morning. They would be happy to show you the way!

Where do I park and is there handicap accessibility?

There is handicap and visitor parking located outside both our Sanctuary and Christian Life Center buildings. Both buildings are wheelchair accessible and include elevators.

How should I dress for church?

There is no dress code for worship - God wants you just as you are!  At the traditional services, most folks wear slacks and a shirt, and a few choose to wear a tie. At our contemporary service, people wear shorts, jeans, slacks and an occasional tie.

Can you tell me more about the worship styles?

Our 8:30 am service is held in our beautiful English Gothic Sanctuary and contains traditional liturgy, hymn singing with a great pipe organ, a fantastic church choir, relevant sermons and great warm fellowship.  This service is always followed with a fellowship time (a great hot breakfast on the 2nd Sundays) to help you to meet and visit with other folks who will love to share with you.

Our 11:00 A.M. worship service is described as contemporary. There is a band that leads the music, words to songs, sermon notes and images are projected on a screen, and the worship space is less formal. The time and informality have made this service another popular option for families with children.

What exactly is "Sunday school?"

Sunday School describes the hour on Sunday morning devoted to small groups. At Webster Hills, from 9:45-10:45 A.M., there are a variety of small group opportunities for children and adults alike. Children classes engage kids with age appropriate lessons, activities and games designed to share God’s love as it is revealed through the stories of scripture. We have many diverse adult small group opportunities including a class for young adults, youth, adults, and those wishing to learn more about scripture and those desiring to explore contemporary issues from a faith perspective.
