The needs of the people in Haiti will remain massive for years to come. Donations to UMCOR will help with the ongoing relief efforts. Donations to Advance Special #418325 “Haiti Emergency” can be made directly to UMCOR through the General Board of Global Ministries website (www.gbgm-umc.org). Remember that every dollar donated to UMCOR for this emergency will provide humanitarian relief and recovery only for this emergency. If you would prefer, you make your donation through the church with a check payable to Webster Hills United Methodist Church, and note Haiti Emergency – UMCOR Advance #418325 in the memo line. Donations can also be made through the Church’s website. Select “Other” Payment and write “Haiti Emergency” in the comments field. Payment will be accepted through a checking account or a credit card. All donations received by Webster Hills will be immediately transferred to the UMCOR Advance #418325.

Another way to assist is to make health kits. These kits will be collected and shipped to Haiti when needed. In the face of natural disasters, violence, or poverty, these kits can mean the difference between sickness and health for struggling families. Health kit contents include:

Each Kit – $10 value - $1 needed for toothpaste - $2.00 needed for shipping
1 hand towel (16" X 28"), 1 wide-tooth comb, 1 nail clipper, 1 bar of soap (bath size in wrapper), 1 washcloth, 6 Band-Aids, 1 toothbrush (in original packaging). Seal all items in a one-gallon plastic bag with zipper closure.

Toothpaste will be added by Church World Service. It is important that the kits contain only the items listed above. Kits can be dropped off at the church or they can be dropped off at Eden Seminary – CWS Office, 475 E. Lockwood, in Webster Groves, 314-252-3298. Financial gifts to the Church marked “Health Kits” are also needed since each kits costs $2.00 for shipping and $1.00 for a tube of toothpaste which is added prior to shipment.
